For a weather forecast we suggest visiting MeteoBlue. Our tours will go ahead regardless of the weather. In poor weather you will take a customised virtual reality tour of Lake Tekapo’s night skies. You will always enjoy exclusive use of our 38℃ hot pool after either the indoor or outdoor tour. 

Please allow 1.5 hours in total including check in. 

Please note that we prefer children to join the earliest tour possible. Children under 6 are not permitted on the tours. 

The first half of the tour is a guided introduction to the southern night sky with a unique combination of astronomy and stories passed down from the ancestors of the first people of Aotearoa. If the weather isn’t suitable for outdoor stargazing, you will experience a customised virtual reality tour of the Lake Tekapo night skies! This unique experience features stunning 360 degree images of the stars, custom-drawn artwork to bring the constellations to life with a fusion of science and storytelling. 

This is where the tour really gets magical! Enjoy exclusive use of our 38℃ hot pool and let the real world melt away as you lie back on a floating hammock to ensure ultimate relaxation and easy sky viewing. While soothing music plays, feel like you are floating among the stars as you explore the night at your own pace. The guides will be poolside during this relaxing experience, telling stories and answering questions about the universe!
