Using stunning 360° imagery captured right here in Lake Tekapo, you’ll be transported to iconic locations including the summit of Mt John and the Church of the Good Shepherd before embarking on a journey through the cosmos.

Guided by our astronomy experts, you’ll travel among the stars, explore distant galaxies and nebulae, and discover the stories behind the southern sky. Unlike a telescope, which offers a glimpse of a single object at a time, this experience allows you to soar through space, see the bigger picture, and get closer to celestial wonders than ever before.

Our Virtual Reality experience is offered when conditions are unsuitable for telescope viewing. Rather than looking through a telescope, you’ll explore the night sky from a completely different perspective – travelling through constellations, galaxies and nebulae, visiting iconic Tekapo locations, and uncovering the stories behind the stars through an immersive guided journey.
